RHCW Winter Webinar 2024 / Gweminar y Gaeaf IGGC 2024

The next RHCW Webinar is being held on Tuesday 30th January 2024 from 10am to 12 noon, with the following presentations:

The RCM’s Research Prioritisation Project – Finding the top 10 priorities for midwifery practice and maternity care research – Jenny Cunningham & Jude Field, Research Advisers at the Royal College of Midwives / Project Co-leads – the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) wants to find the top 10 priorities for midwifery practice and maternity research, based on the perspectives of women, birth people, their friends and family, midwives, midwifery students and maternity support workers. Jenny and Jude will outline how the RCM intends to identify priority areas for research into midwifery and whilst a major focus will be on establishing the priorities for clinical midwifery and maternity care, they also want to identify priorities for research in midwifery education and workforce wellbeing. In order to find out where the gaps in evidence are, two surveys will be circulated. The first survey is now open until 7 April 2024, which focusses on collecting people’s thoughts about evidence uncertainties and gaps in knowledge. The second survey will open in September 2024 and will contain a list of priorities that have been gathered from responses to the first survey. The final stage of the project will be an in-person workshop in January 2025 where the final top 10 list will be confirmed, with a report to be published in May 2025. Identifying the priorities for midwifery research is important in order to highlight the important areas for research that would mean better care for women, their babies and their families. The presentation will explain how you can get involved and help support this important area of work.

A Conversation with the Public: a summary of the findings – Dr Julianna Faludi, Research and Development Lead, Bevan Commission, Swansea University “A Conversation with the Public” was a nation-wide action that set out to engage with the people of Wales to find out their views on health and care services. The process included holding public meetings in a series of town halls in each health board area, which aimed at gaining an understand of people’s experiences with, and visions about, health and social care. This initiative was led by the Bevan Commission, supported by Llais, and set out to also capture the perceptions about challenges and insights of communities in the different areas of Wales, as expectations and experiences vary locally. Two national surveys captured further information and views of people across the whole of Wales, with a final report published in January 2024. This presentation will outline the process undertaken and the main findings of the report.

Cynhelir Gweminar nesaf IGGC ar ddydd Mawrth 30fed o Ionawr 2024 rhwng 10am a 12 hanner dydd, gyda’r cyflwyniadau canlynol:

Prosiect Blaenoriaethu Ymchwil yr RCM – dod o hyd i’r 10 blaenoriaeth uchaf ar gyfer ymarfer bydwreigiaeth ac ymchwil gofal mamolaeth – Jenny Cunningham a Jude Field, Cynghorwyr Ymchwil Coleg Brenhinol y Bydwragedd / Cyd-arweinwyr ar gyfer y Prosiect – mae Coleg Brenhinol y Bydwragedd (RCM) am ddod o hyd i’r 10 blaenoriaeth uchaf ar gyfer ymarfer bydwreigiaeth ac ymchwil mamolaeth, yn seiliedig ar safbwyntiau menywod, pobl sy’n geni, eu ffrindiau a’u teulu, bydwragedd, myfyrwyr bydwreigiaeth a gweithwyr cymorth mamolaeth. Mi fydd Jenny a Jude yn esbonio sut bydd y RCM yn nodi’r blaenoriaethau ar gyfer ymchwil bydwreigiaeth as er y bydd ffocws mawr ar sefydlu’r blaenoriaethau ar gyfer bydwreigiaeth glinigol a gofal mamolaeth, rydym hefyd am nodi blaenoriaethau ar gyfer ymchwil ym meysydd pwysig addysg bydwreigiaeth a lles y gweithlu. I ddarganfod ble mae’r bylchau yn y dystiolaeth, bydd dau arolwg yn cael eu cylchredeg. Mae’r arolwg cyntaf ar agor nawr tan 7 Ebrill 2024, sydd yn gwahodd syniadau pobl am ansicrwydd tystiolaeth a fylchau mewn gwybodaeth. Bydd yr ail arolwg yn agor ym mis Medi 2024 ac yn cynnwys rhestr o flaenoriaethau sydd wedi eu casglu o ymatebion i’r arolwg cyntaf. Y cam olaf bydd gweithdy personol ym mis Ionawr 2025 lle bydd rhestr derfynol y 10 uchaf yn cael ei chadarnhau, gyda adroddiad terfynol yn cael ei gyhoeddi ym mis Mai 2025. Mae nodi’r blaenoriaethau ar gyfer ymchwil bydwreigiaeth yn golygu y gallwn dynnu sylw at y meysydd pwysig ar gyfer ymchwil a fyddai’n golygu gwell gofal i fenywod, eu babanod a’u teuluoedd. Mi fydd y cyflwyniad yma yn esbonio sut y gallwch cymryd rhan a chefnogi’r gwaith pwysig yma.

Cyfathrebu a’r Cyhoedd: crynodeb o’r Canfyddiadau –Dr Julianna Faludi, Arweinydd Ymchwil a Datblygu, Comisiwn Bevan, Prifysgol Abertawe –Roedd “Cyfathrebu â’r Cyhoedd” yn weithred genedlaethol a oedd yn ceisio ymgysylltu â’r cyhoedd yng Nghymru i ganfod eu barn ar wasanaethau iechyd a gofal. Roedd y broses yn cynnwys cynnal cyfarfodydd cyhoeddus mewn cyfres o neuaddau tref ym mhob ardal bwrdd iechyd, gyda’r nod o gael dealltwriaeth o brofiadau pobl o iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol, a’u gweledigaethau amdanynt. Arweiniwyd y fenter hon gan Gomisiwn Bevan, gyda chefnogaeth Llais, a’i nod oedd casglu’r canfyddiadau am heriau a mewnwelediadau cymunedau yng ngwahanol ardaloedd Cymru, wrth i ddisgwyliadau a phrofiadau amrywio’n lleol. Casglodd dau arolwg cenedlaethol ragor o wybodaeth a safbwyntiau pobl ledled Cymru, a chyhoeddwyd adroddiad terfynol ym mis Ionawr 2024. Bydd y cyflwyniad hwn yn amlinellu’r broses a gyflawnwyd a phrif ganfyddiadau’r adroddiad.
