Public & Staff Engagement

As part of it’s annual Work programme agreed by the Mid Wales Joint Committee, RHCW is tasked with attending suitable events and conferences to promote the work of RHCW and to raise the issues impacted by the rurality of the Mid Wales region.

The Mid Wales region is defined as being the region between the arc that connects Barmouth in the northwest of Wales across to Welshpool in the northeast, and down to the opposite arc to the south, which connects Cardigan in the west, across to Llandovery and then onto Builth Wells in the east. The three county areas that are included in the Mid Wales region are Ceredigion, south Gwynedd (Meirionnydd) and north Powys.

The RHCW 2024 / 25 Work programme requires:

  • Attendance at, at least, 4 external conferences, of which 1 should be an International conference, for the presentation of the work of RHCW
  • Attendance at, at least, 3 suitable events to raise the profile of rural health and care issues and the work of RHCW i.e. Careers Fairs, Royal Welsh Show.

RHCW also has a responsibility to deliver a Winter (January) and Summer (July) Webinar, and the annual RHCW Conference at the Royal welsh Showground in Builth Wells.

In 2023 RHCW launched it’s Podcasts  and it utilises it’s Social Media presence to promote the work of the team, and to support and engage with health and care issues impacting the Mid Wales region. You can find us on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Linkedin and Instagram.
