Cynhadledd IGGC 2024 / RHCW Conference 2024

Reflection and Future Direction achievements in rural health, care and wellbeing over the last 10 years and what lies ahead

5, 6 and 7 November 2024
10am – 4pm

This year’s Rural Health and Care Wales Conference will be held over 3 days, with the third day focussing on a reflection of developments and achievements since the Welsh Government’s commissioned Mid Wales Healthcare Study was published in 2014.

The Conference will once again be held in hybrid format, with people able to attend on-line or in person at the Montgomery Pavilion, Royal Welsh showground, Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, Powys, LD2 3SY.

Theme and strands:

  • The delivery of Integrated Health and Care services in Rural areas, including cross-sector, multi-agency and / or multi-disciplinary working
  • The role of Rural Communities and unpaid Carers in Health and Care
  • Advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Telehealth / Telemedicine and the remote delivery of Health and Care services in Rural areas
  • Social / Green Prescribing and the impact of Art, Crafts and other non-clinical interventions on Health and Wellbeing
  • Recruitment and Retention of Health and Care professionals in Rural areas
  • Education, Training and Continuous Professional Development for Health and Care professionals working in Rural areas
  • The “Mid Wales Healthcare Study” (Longely et al, 2014) – a reflection of achievements, current and future relevance, and issues still to address

The first day of the Conference will have a health / medical / educational focus, the second day will look at communities / care / social and green prescribing and the third day will be reflective on changes in delivery of health and care services in Mid Wales, ending with a celebration of the great work being undertaken across the region to support rural populations.

The conference is aimed at health and care professionals, academics, practitioners, patients and the public with an interest in rural health, well-being and care. Tickets for the Conference can be purchased below, with a small daily charge being raised towards catering for those attending in person (£15 for one day, £25 for two days and £30 for 3 days attendance).

Bydd diwrnod cyntaf y Gynhadledd yn canolbwyntio ar iechyd / meddygaeth / addysg, bydd yr ail ddiwrnod yn edrych ar gymunedau / gofal / presgripsiynu cymdeithasol a gwyrdd, a bydd y trydydd diwrnod yn myfyrio ar newidiadau yn y ddarpariaeth o wasanaethau iechyd a gofal yng Nghanolbarth Cymru, gan ddod i ben gyda dathliad o’r gwaith gwych sy’n cael ei wneud ar draws y rhanbarth i gefnogi poblogaethau gwledig.
